Saturn retrograde officially started Saturday, June 29.
Saturn’s energy teaches us to absorb and integrate all of our life’s lessons so they can become key stepping stones in our evolutionary journey. As our master karmic teacher, Saturn looks back over the last few months, checking to see if we have done our homework and are embracing the lessons provided.
At the same time, this four and a half month period of Saturn retrograde will be asking us to let go of those repeating rigid behavioral patterns that have been restricting the expansion of our consciousness and human identities. We are individually and collectively redefining our selves, and this process requires the ability to be more emotionally and psychologically flexible, letting go of attachments to past issues that no longer serve our highest purpose.
July will bring some fresh energies and together with the 7:7 energy portal light codes, a newfound sense of identity will arrive. That said, the energies of Saturn retrograde will be with us until November, always acting in the energetic background, and assisting us to release any limiting and restrictive patterns so we can keep moving forward to our divinely guided destinations.
On July 1st, Jupiter forms a semi-square to Chiron. This aspect only happens once instead of the more common three times of a longer-term influence. With this transit, we crave meaning and understanding, but aligning ourselves with a personal philosophy or belief system that truly reflects our inner selves can be challenging. Beliefs and ideas can lead us astray, or we might experience some form of crisis of faith.
It is essential to look within and come to a greater understanding of what we truly need or believe, rather than following something that doesn’t serve our purpose. New endeavors may require a closer look before pushing forward. As much as we want to improve and advance, it’s best to avoid pushing this process.
On July 2nd, Neptune turns retrograde, and this shift casts a veil over our practical affairs. There can be a temporary loss of inspiration as we realign our dreams and wishes with what’s inside us. The retrograde cycle itself, which lasts until December 7th this year, suggests receptiveness and some indecisiveness. It can be a period of feeling in limbo, but it might also be a time of great inner discovery.
On July 5th, a New Moon occurs in the sign of Cancer, prompting a new beginning, particularly with our personal lives, home, and family. This is a time for feeding our foundation. Everything that we call home needs to be tended to and honored. It’s a time to recognize the importance of our family and our personal circle of friends and the security, sense of belonging, and safety we derive from them.
On July 9th, Jupiter forms a sextile with the North Node, pointing to a willingness to grow, learn, improve, develop, and move past our fears. We are ready to embrace new methods and attitudes, leaving behind those no longer serving our growth. Jupiter encourages us to embrace our visions, and its sextile to the North Node helps us balance our vision with our intuition. Our conscience is well-developed, and we want to help others. We’re more inclined than usual to believe in the power of the group.
This transit amplifies our desire to connect with those who can contribute to our personal growth and improvement. We may form relationships with individuals who broaden our horizons, expand our worldview, or deepen our personal philosophy. This is a time when we seek more meaning in life, and it’s conducive to activities such as publishing, community involvement, teaching, guiding, and learning. We are likely to believe that enhancing our independence and self-confidence will improve our communications and strengthen our bonds with others–and vice versa. The harmony of shared ideas and ideals can be particularly powerful during this time.
On July 21st, a Full Moon occurs in the sign of Capricorn. Note that a Full Moon occurred in Capricorn last month on the same date. This time around, it happens in the last degree of the sign, suggesting final decisions on a matter or culminations. This lunation reminds us once again that we can’t ignore our commitments to the outside world. We need to take care of our responsibilities, tend to business, act maturely, and take charge. Solid and practical ideas are associated with the realizations and epiphanies occurring now.
This lunation, as the second one in the Capricorn sign, feels more urgent, but it also rounds out our feelings compared to last month’s Full Moon in the sign, when we were fresh and still a little naive. We can experience powerful, well-formed realizations, perhaps with the final word or decisive revelations on a matter. This lunation connects with Pluto and engages harmoniously with Neptune, Mars, and Uranus, suggesting we have the support, determination, and resources to realize our dreams. It’s a fruitful and ambitious period.
On July 26th, Chiron turns retrograde, and will remain retrograde until December 29th. This cycle is good for introspection and reassessing the mental and physical health programs in our lives. We tend to look within for healing with Chiron retrograde.
